After having read the book, and really resonating with the grandmothers
message, and subsequently using the grandmothers as a resource, I was
delighted to be at the first empowerment. The ceremony was just beautiful,
and simple.
You told the story in a clear, funny, and readily understandable
way. There was not a woman present who didn't want the empowerment. Every
woman present spoke and took part. The most moving part of the entire
event was when you did the net of light meditation and the women called
out the names of the women they wanted to cast the net to.
Though I'd already read the meditation and was familiar with it, I
received vivid images of the net and my spot on it, which was deepened
and enhanced by the drumming.
I felt very connected to Sharon and the West coast group from what
you told of them having met that very morning.
We weren't outside in a garden, but the room we were in is under a
vast oak tree that felt sheltering and safe as did the space itself.
The night of the empowerment I had dreams of the grandmothers. Not
vivid ones that I remember, but I know I was with them. And I keep
catching myself singing the chants and songs over and over.
Thank you, thank you, thank you, Jane, for doing this despite whatever
reservations you may have had. Blessings! --Amy
